And Speaking of Birthdays...

Brian and I both recently had our birthdays too. Bella was excited for each of those days, but she thinks "birthday" means cake and ice cream and some presents. She didn't think much of our birthdays until the cake was right there in front of her! :)

On Brian's birthday, we went out to eat, and the girls both had about the worst restaurant experience they have ever had. They didn't want to sit still, or eat, or be quiet. This picture pretty accurately describes it:

They wanted to go outside and walk around and dance. There was a stage afterall, and Bella loves to be on stage!

My birthday dinner went much more smoothly, and my present was wonderful- a new camera. I can't wait to start using it- and I'll probably be posting pictures all of the time!

Little Miss Birthday Party

Bella has gotten to attend several birthday parties lately. Her friend Paige invited just a couple of her girl friends to a tea party. It was in a nearby town at a place called the Pink House. The little girls dressed in their favorite princess outfits, sat at their own table, got to drink some (decaffenated) tea, and ate cookies before lunch. How much more could little girls ask? I love the smiley picture above, but the ones below are so sweet too.


Last weekend Bella went to another friend's birthday party at a place called the Party Barn. She got to ride a little pony named Gingerbread. She loved it, and is sure to tell everyone an important detail of her ride: Gingerbread had to stop and go poo poo while she was riding her.

Back to School

I'm almost a month late in posting back to school pictures. Lucy is going just one day a week, and Bella is continuing to go 2 days a week. For her first preschool experience, Lucy is doing really well. When I picked her up this week she was waving and saying "bye bye" to one of her classmates. I love that she is making friends! Bella gets to go to Chapel and have Music and Spanish lessons this year. She is always excited to go to school!

Enjoying the Last Bit of Summer

We went to Brian's parents' lakehouse for Labor Day. Lucy got to ride in the boat and get in the lake for the first time. She loved the boat ride. She found the perfect little seat, just her size! Bella wanted to fish right away with her princess fishing pole. Oops- I didn't get many pictures of Bella since I was trying to capture all of Lucy's firsts!

We've also been enjoying our new neighborhood pool. Lucy wasn't quite sure what to think about just walking right into the pool. She didn't want to move from the spot where we put her down! Bella learned SO much at her swimming lessons this summer and had made lots of progress since then. She does her "rocket arms" very well.
