The Circus Came to our House!

Bella's birthday party had a circus theme this year. We had face painting (by cousins Taylor and Bailey), a pumpkin ring toss, a bean bag toss, a duck game, party hat decorating, and a peanut hunt! We were SO, SO glad to have beautiful weather so all of this could be done outside. Somehow I fogot to take pictures of the circus decorations, but I did get pictures of Bella and her cousins and friends having lots of fun...

Lucy was always being held, led around, or fed cake and ice cream by a family member. I think each of them got a turn with her. I'm pretty sure she had a great day too! Here she is cuddling with family (here, Grandma B, Uncle David and Aunt Sara):

OSU Homecoming

Last weekend was busy! After Friday night's circus adventure, we went to OSU's Homecoming. The girls enjoyed tailgating with their cousins Jack and Andrew, and their cousins from the other side of the family: Carter, Isaiah and Alivia. We also got to see my Aunt Carol and Uncle Jack. They were in town from Dallas so Carol could be a homecoming house decoration judge.

Don't Take a One-Year-Old to the Circus

But do take an almost four-year-old! Bella has been asking to go the circus ever since she knew circuses existed. When we saw that Barnum & Bailey's circus was coming to our new arena, we knew we had to take her. She really did have a great time. Our only mistake was thinking Lucy would enjoy it too. She did okay at first, but once she finished helping Bella eat her "s'mores on a stick," she wanted "DOWN" and to "ALK" "ALK" "ALK!!" (walk). So, one of us walked Lucy around and around and around the arena and up and down and up and down the escaltor. She had fun- but not fun watching the circus.

It was parent viewing week at Bella's ballet school, so Lucy and I got to sit in the room and watch her. I wasn't sure how Lucy would do having to sit still for almost an hour, but she did very well! I think she was very entertained by her big sister and all of the other girls. Lucy couldn't resist standing up and dancing a couple of times too. In fact, one of those time was during "Skip to My Lou!"

Bella danced so well. It was amazing to see how much more she "gets" it this year! Just look at that leap!
