Busy, fun weekend!

On Friday, we celebrated my Dad's birthday.
Happy Birthday Dad/Papa!
On Saturday, we went on a mini-trip to a wedding. My sweet college friend, Celena, got married. The ceremony was beautiful- it was outdoors in the middle of a bunch of trees at a winery. Her colors were pink and brown- how perfect! We sat at the back (all 4 of us!) and upon seeing the wedding party walk down the aisle, Bella grabbed my hand and said, "come on, let's go down there!" :)
Congratuations Celena and Chris!

Bella dressed up and ready to go:

Brian and the girls:

Beautiful bride, sister of bride, Savannah (another great friend!) with us:

The R girls:

The girls in matching pjs at the hotel on Saturday night-how could I resist a picture of this?

Our hotel had a pool, and Bella was SO excited about swimming in the morning. She was so excited, in fact, that she put on her swimsuit by herself before even taking her pajamas off.

Then we visited David, Sara, Andrew and Jack and went to see where their new house that is being built. It's just in the framing stage, but we went in another house by the same builder and the kids had a great time running around. We got their sweaty little bodies to stay still for a second for this picture!

Jack insisted on a "silly face" picture too!

Back to school

Bella had her first day of the school year at preschool today. She did great, and the report from one of her teachers was that she was "so, so sweet." And she is!

3 months old!

Lucy is 3 months old today. I can't believe how fast that 3 months has gone by, but I almost can't remember what it was like without her. She's our little "Luc" and we love her so much.

No photographs, please!

Bella was getting ready to walk down to our neighborhood Splash Park. We put her swimsuit on her, and then she decided she needed her hat and some sunglasses. Doesn't she look like a celebrity trying to disguise herself from the paparazzi? :)

So sad...

When we found out my brother, sister-in-law and 2 sweet nephews were moving away, Bella and Lucy were so, so sad. Well, either that, or Bella was in trouble and Lucy was hungry....hmmm. Anyway, I'M sad, but trying my best to be happy for them. My brother has a great new job, they're building a new house, and they will be closer to some good friends, so they are excited. We had Jack and Andrew come over last week for dinner and play time. Jack and Bella had so much fun together (in between the fights of "mine!" "no mine!" that is). Andrew is at such a fun age, and smiles or laughs at just about everything. Of course we'll still be together a lot, because, really, they're not moving THAT far away. They just won't be down the road anymore. And we'll miss that.

Lucy laughed!

I guess Daddy is the funny one! Brian was giving her a bath on Saturday night and telling her to "kick, kick, kick" in a very animated silly Daddy way, and she chuckled! She did it several times in a row. I had JUST looked in my baby book to see when I laughed for the first time and it said 2 months. I told Brian (and Lucy) that we needed to get going on that! Minutes later, she did! With Bella, it was closer to 4 months and it was over Brian sneezing (first on accident, then fake sneezing over and over and over). I am so glad though, with both, I was close by and was able to hear their first laughs as they happened. It's one of the best sounds ever!

Lucy at 2 months

Lucy turned 2 months old on July 21st. She had her 2 month check-up last week, and our pediatrician said she is perfect (well, of course, and I'm sure he's never said that to anyone else)! :)
She was 24" long (which is in the 96% for a 2 month old) and 12 lbs, 5 oz (90%). Wow! I looked back at Bella's baby book and Bella was actually really close to these measurements (she was 22" and 12 lbs, 12 oz).
She's sleeping well at night- her best so far was from 11:30 to 6:30! That was great for both of us!
She's being so sweet, with tons of smiles and coos. We usually put Lucy in Bella's bed for a few minutes so Bella can tell her goodnight. Lucy smiles and kicks with excitement at her. I'm surprised that they already have such a bond, and I love it!
