Some recent Bella sayings and stories:
Scunny School: Last weekend, Bella gathered up several dollies and sat them on the floor. She sat in her rocking chair and said "Welcome to Skunny School." She then showed them a book she had and sang "this called the Bible."
God is Great, Damen: Bella says this little prayer, often wanting us to say it with her. She really emphasizes the "DAmen."
Ice Cream Truck (ambulance): We were driving down the street and had to get over to the side of the road because an ambulance was going past us. Annabella said, "I want some ice cream on that truck." Well, she loves her ice cream, but I couldn't believe she remembered what an ice cream truck was. The first and only time so far that she got to have ice cream off of an ice cream truck was last summer.
NOT toLATER, toDAY: Did you know that LATER can't be TODAY? Whenever we talk about doing something later in the day (especially if it's something she really wants to do), Annabella will say, with frustration, "no, not TOLATER, TODAY!"
I don't like bugs, I just like butterflies: We had a MAJOR fear of bugs going on here a couple of weeks ago. Every little spot on the floor (whether it be a bit of dirt or a tiny fuzzy) was a bug in Annabella's mind. It got so bad that at times she refused to walk on the carpet. She woke up in the middle of the night once crying and literally shaking because she thought there was a bug on her pillow. She kept saying "I don't like bugs, I just like butterflies." Well, it was time for our pest control guy to come anyway, so we made a really big deal out of that. Les came and sprayed, and I made sure Annabella watched him do it. She has been talking about "Es" every since, whenever there is a mention of bugs. "It's kay, Es get rid of the bugs," she says.
40, 40, 9, 10:
We'll ask Bella what time she woke up from her nap, and the answer? "Forty forty nine ten." She stepped on our scale, and I asked her how much she weighed. The answer: "Forty forty nine ten." So, that's the answer to any question that has to do with numbers!
Oh, elephant!
Bella occasionally calls elephants, as in, "Ohhhhh ellleeephant, Ohhhhh ellleeephant......" I don't know where this came from, but if there are any elephants nearby, we'll know because surely they will respond to Bella's call.
