Bella had her dance recital last weekend. Her class was adorable to watch, because some of them did really well and new most of the routine, and some of them just stood and looked cute in the costumes, throwing in a few ballet or tap moves here and there. Bella probably fit more into that second category. :) Brian, Lucy and I, along with both sets of grandparents, Great Grandma B, her Aunt Lisa, and cousin Jake were in the front row. Once she spotted us, she couldn't stop waving. She was the youngest one in her class, and she was on the opposite end of the stage from where her teacher was doing the routine with the class. So, especially with those things considered, she did a great job. She even got flowers from her cousin Jake and her Grandma when she was done! The recital was held at the PAC of the high school where Brian and I went. When we took her to the rehearsal the night before, we had a chance to walk around in between her times on stage. It has been 12(!) years since we were walking those halls, but it doesn't seem like it was that long ago at all. In another 12 years, Bella will be getting ready to drive! I hope those years don't go by so fast, but I have a feeling they will. Sometimes I want her to stay that tiny little girl waving to us from the stage forever.
Ever since her recital, Bella has been more interested in doing and performing dances than ever. Tonight, she went with me to watch my friend Savannah graduate from medical school (YEA SAVANNAH!) and I was telling her on the way there that Savannah would be walking across a stage (our high school rival's stage, as matter of fact) just like she was doing last week. Bella immediately asked, "is she going to do a dance up there?"
That leads me to a few more Bella-isms that I forgot in the last post:
1. Me: "Bella, it's time to come sit down and eat your dinner."

Bella: "No...okay?" (as if she is asking permission to say no)
2. I was warming up some leftover pizza, and I asked Bella which kind she wanted. Bella said, "I want pepperoni, but just without pepperonis."
which is very similar to another request she regularly makes:
"I want a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich, but no peanut butter."

3. Lately, when Brian asks her to do something, she'll say "You got it big buddy!" We have no idea where she got this, but it's a whole lot better than "no, okay?"

P.S. To the Thetas out there...I've already got her wearing pansies! We'll be sure to include these pictures with her rec!
