It's way past time for the first edition of Lucy-isms! As her mom, of course I would say this, but Lucy's vocabulary amazes me at 21 months. Each day I'm so surprised at then new words, phrases and sentences that she says. She knows, says, and points to body parts when we ask her- she even knows elbows, knees and eyebrows. She loves to be asked all of the noises that animals make. She has a book about hippos, though, and we're not sure what sound to tell her they make. Anyone know?
On this day (below), she was so proud of her knees and kept lifting up her pants and saying "knees!" "knees!"
For a long time now, this has been my favorite Lucy-ism:Me: "I love you Lucy."
Lucy: "TOO!" (she never says I love you- just TOO! and I love that!)
And lately, this is another favorite:
Me: "Lucy?"
Lucy: "Whut." (I know this isn't necessarily funny, but if you could hear they way she says "whut" so seriously, you would understand)
I hear these a lot:Lucy: "Mommmmmmy, ARRRREEEE you?"
Me: "I'm in the kitchen."
Lucy: "Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaay."
Me: "Where's Bella?"
Lucy: "Aahhnoooo" (I don't know)
It's so fun to hear the "conversations" between Bella and Lucy. Lucy has gone from calling Bella "Ba" to "Ba uh" to a pretty clear "Bella" now. A couple of funny exchanges between them:Bella: "Holy Cow!"
Lucy: "Mooooooo!"
Bella: That bag has a "L" on it.
Lucy: ELMO!
When Bella says something in a particularly animated way, Lucy realizes it must be important and tries to repeat it.
Bella: "Pleassssse can I have some ice cream for bizert?" Pleassssse?
Lucy: "ME!" "ICE CREAM!" "BIZERT!" "TOO!"
(Bizert= Dessert, a Bella-ism that has kind of stuck around here for all of us)
And of course Lucy has mastered the words and phrases that are required when dealing with a sibling:
"MINE!"
"My turn!"
"That MY dolly"
Hey Lucy?TOO!
